In The Sheets with Darby

Nude boudoir model shows off her beautiful fingernails.

This post is a follow-on to this prior one. Please start there for the intro and back-story to this session. This gallery consists of a “White Sheet” series and nude boudoir images with model Darby. Darby was great fun to work with, and her extensive modeling experience really came through in her expressions and poses.

Prospective boudoir models and clients: study Darby’s eye and facial expressions, her posturing, and her hand and leg positions. There’s a lot to learn from Darby’s poses here. So expressive, polished and professional. Darby really didn’t need any art direction at all; we just flowed. Darby moved from pose to pose, I photographed.

We shot together on this morning for a few hours. I kept saying “just a couple more images,” then carried on shooting for another 15 minutes. This happened several times; I could have photographed Darby all day. Below is a selection of the portfolio we created.

For the photographers reading, these photographs were made with one of my favorite boudoir cameras. It’s a camera model that is considered by many to be outdated. But it has a cult following in the photography community, and it is a very capable camera for boudoir photography. I’m talking about the Fujifilm X-Pro1. I shot it on this day with the Fujinon 35mm f/1.4 and 56mm f/1.2 lenses. Available window light for the most part. Though I used an off-camera Nikon SB-800 speedlight on a lightstand for shadow fill on a few of these. An old-school Pocketwizard triggered the lights, with all manual exposure settings.

OK enough talk. Enjoy this nude boudoir set with Darby.
