Here’s another holiday-lights themed gallery featuring the stunning model Renee, in a festive lingerie outfit. I recently posted another holiday-themed gallery of her, here. I hope you’ll visit that one, as well. On this day, we had been shooting other boudoir looks using some new lighting techniques. Then, Renee broke out this amazing red sheer top, panties, and spiked red heels for more holiday boudoir fun.
LATE-AFTERNOON LIGHT
We shot this session in red rather late in the afternoon, and it was starting to get dark. We began the series with some window light mixed with studio strobes in the hotel suite in which we were shooting. I really enjoyed the lighting look we were getting in these images.

PIXIE LIGHTS AS STUDIO LIGHTING
Then, when darkness began to settle, I decided to make some photos using just the pixie holiday lights we’d been using as a background accessory, as the primary light source. I had just some small lights for background fill to reduce shadows, but the pixie lights were doing most of the heavy lifting. Shutter speeds were quite slow, so I placed my camera onto a tripod at the foot of the bed – something I don’t think I’ve done before in many years of boudoir photography – and asked Renee to be as still as possible. We both really liked the effect.

HEY CLIENTS, LET’S SHOOT THIS!
I’m including multiple holiday-lights boudoir sessions in my galleries this season, since creating them is very popular with boudoir clients. These holiday photo sets illustrate some techniques I use often during client sessions at the holidays. So if you’re a prospective client and you want to try this, please be sure to mention it! I’m also honored to have such a stunning model as Renee to create these sample galleries with. So I really need to share these photos on the site, don’t you agree?
STILL MORE HOLIDAY BOUDOIR FUN TO COME!
Finally, I haven’t yet finished posting holiday-themed images with Renee. So please stay tuned for even more holiday boudoir fun soon!
AND FOR THE CAMERA NERDS
For the photographers that read this site, the photo gear used in these images was primarily the Nikon Df camera and a mix of Nikon 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 105mm prime lenses. A few of the photos were also made with a Sony A7II body that I had on loan from Sony at the time (lighting geeks will see that the white balance is a little different in a few of the images). Strobe lighting was Elinchrom studio strobes, Westcott soft boxes, and initial exposure determined using a Sekonic flash meter. Everything triggered by Pocket Wizards, all in manual mode.
